For this project I knew immediately from the day the prompt was given that I was gonna go all out and take a bit more of a serious and spooky route. My first idea ended up being the one I went with: recreating real nightmares that I and my partner, Danny, have had into a trippy, creepy sequence using a range of different animation styles! The creation of the final piece was for sure a trust-the-process sort of deal, especially with the hand-drawn animation (which also took forever) which I have next to no experience with. However, I found myself having way more fun with it once I got into a groove, and seeing all my hard work come together into one piece was extremely satisfying in the end. This project gave me even more respect for animators of all kinds as well as editors for movies and videos. I also would love to dabble more into animation, especially hand-drawn, as I found it very fun and relaxing! Doing short silly animations is definitely something I could see myself doing in the future. The filming of the live-action pieces of the piece was also a lot of fun as its something I'm not used to doing at all, and I love getting my family involved with the creation of my artwork. I feel like Danny and my cat Moo did a fantastic job, and Danny really loves the final product.
