ZINE BRAINSTORM

For my zine I had one main idea that I might expand on: Getting my first cat! The research and looking through literal HUNDREDS of other cats before finally falling in love with my beautiful son Moo <3 (fig.1). With my zine, I wanna include pics of all the cats I looked at as well as the disaster that is the initial research and budgeting of a cat. I'm also gonna see if I can come up with any other ideas, like anything having to do with my personal life and experiences. With the cat zine, I wanna touch on all aspects of my cat-parent journey like shopping for supplies, managing my allergies with cats that I VERY much have, and having to get past the hordes of other cat owners on social media telling me i'm a terrible person for feeding my cat dry food. If I were to do anything other than my cat for this zine, I might make a zine telling my story with OCD and how I (and still now) recovered from my initial bout. Since i've made zines before, I'm going to try to draw inspiration from the last zine I made which told my story of being a transfer student using sardines. However, that zine was cut and glued together, not made digitally! In fact, I'm not quite familiar at all with digital zine-making, so i'm quite intimidated! I'm really hoping I can pull my weight and really make a good impression with my classmates for this first assignment.
